Radiant orchid is Pantone 2014 colour of the year

My town crier job started last year with me announcing that Pantone; the international colour authority had chosen Emerald green as 2013 colour of the year.

This hue- which is a blend of lilac, purple and lavender is one which I find soft to the eyes and can help achieve serenity and tranquility in almost any interior space. The good thing is, if you think it's too stereotypical in your masculine eye, you may blend it with a tough of light yellow, white ,red, grey, orange , earthy tones like mushroom and sand or even black or have it used as an accent with your wallpaper.

Emerald green also seems to have its way with radiant orchid as seen in the colour below.

Because color trends change regularly, it's not necessary to rush out and replace all of your furniture with Radiant Orchid pieces. Consider introducing a gorgeous, Radiant Orchid area rug to your living room, adding pops of color with art pieces or draperies, finding Orchid accent pieces, making use of trendy and fashionable slip covers for your dining room chairs. Your whole home doesn't have to go purple - a few strategically placed Radiant Orchid pieces can go a long way in modernizing your space.
Wouldn't you rather explore the warmth of this brilliantly selected hue even if it's with just a chair throw or an ottoman sitting in a corner of your living room? If not, which hue would have been your preference for the year 2014?
